3/4/11 - Responsibility

About a month ago I thought it was time to try a responsibility chart with Nathan.  It's not difficult to get Nathan to do things, but I figured that at some point it may become difficult.  My thinking is that if he gets used to the chart now, it will help out with accountability in the future.  We haven't perfected the system, but right now at the end of the week he gets 1 coin for every smiley face.  I don't think he knows what the coins are really for, but he does love putting them in his giant railroad bank that chuggs and choo choos whenever you put coins in.

You can see the hefty responsibilities our 3 yr old has.  The nice thing about this particular chart is its flexibility.  You can easily alter it to serve your purpose.  He loves putting the smiley faces up and counting up how many he has so far every night.

  2. Positive reinforcement and responsibility are excellent expectations to establish early on. That should save you a lot arguments down the road. What a good mommy you are!
