I've come to the contriversial conclusion that 3 yr olds make some really bad choices.
Nathan had a blast in Utah playing with his cousins and the fun things in Aunt Cathy's back yard....but he didn't always play in the smartest way. What you are looking at here is my boy dropping a pool ball on a trampoline. Bet you can't guess what happened next. Well...aren't you just so smart! Yes, that ball bounced up and whacked him right in the head.
So, the crying Nathan runs over to his loving Mama who asked him if he thought it was a good idea or a bad idea to play with the ball on the trampoline. Though Nathan is usually quick to admit he is wrong, in this instance went against character and stated that he thought it was a good idea.
Now before you get angry saying how could you let him do such a thing....I did warn him that this might not be the safest way to play and asked him to reconsider. I firmly believe in letting my child make mistakes so long as I don't think it's going to put him (or someone else) in the hospital....so I just sat back and waited for him to come to his own conclusions on the matter. Although he declared that he thought it was a wonderful idea...he put that ball right back on the pool table and didn't do it again. :) I suppose it was a lesson learned.
I missed that activity and lesson. Thanks for sharing, good Mom.
