12/1/11 - Penmanship

Nathan just loves working on his letters. Here he is practicing his name.

EDIT:  Now that Mema has received the card....I don't have to keep it a secret anymore.   The full story is that I asked what Nathan wanted to get Mema for Christmas and he said he wanted to give her a gift card.  So right then I stopped what I was doing and we worked together to design a card for Mema.  Nathan was so excited to be able to do just about everything for the card.  He picked the colors, drew the picture, and wrote the message.

I'm adding a few more pictures of the process and the finished product.

  1. It is December 23rd and here at Brooke's house, we just received a box of Christmas presents from the Carrolls. There was enclosed a wrapped gift to MeMa from Amber, Rich, and Nathan -- and under the ribbon was a red paper Christmas card clearly from Nathan himself. He drew a Christmas Tree in full regalia, with presents stashed underneath. And inside he wrote "MeRRY ChRisTmAs MeMA Love NatAn CaRROLL" It looked familiar, and sure enough, it is the handwriting on the paper in this photo! You did write me a letter, Nathan -- that very day!!

  2. Thank you, Amber Dear, for posting "the rest of the story" and the rest of the pictures! What a dear, sweet boy -- and a wonderful daughter to help him accomplish his desire. I love you all and miss you so much. I will treasure his gift forever!
