I read all sorts of blogs that give all sorts of great ideas for childhood play. This is my adaptation of one of those ideas. The idea was for a sensory tub made of rainbow rice. Basically you just color the rice with food coloring and the kids play with it with scoops and stuff. I thought an ocean tub would be fun so I colored a ton of rice blue and put that in a tub with several of Nathan's water themed toys and let Nathan play away. The hardest part of the project is not cringing every time a grain of rice ends up on the floor. To lessen the cringing effect, I put down a table cloth so cleanup would be easier.
He seemed to enjoy it.
