Nathan's school does these fund raisers at Chuck E Cheese from time to time. They're great fun for him, and super exhausting for me. Mostly because keeping track of James at Chuck E Cheese is quite the challenge. Thank goodness Rich was able to show up part way through to help keep track of James. Nathan had a blast....here he is playing Guitar Hero with his best friend.

4/29/15 - Day 119 - Bath Time
James adores bath time. He'd play in there for hours if I let him. He's been playing the cutest games with the little fishies and the rubber duckies. He likes it best when there are 3 different sizes so he can have a Mama, a Papa, and a baby.

4/26/15 - Day 116 - Category: Paper
Kon Mari continues. We're on paper. Dreaded, horrible, no fun paper. This is the first time in the KonMari process that I feel so very depressed. Getting rid of clothing and books was uplifting, encouraging, and a relief. For some reason, paper left me feeling hopless, defeated, and depressed. Oh well. It's done. On to the next hurdle.

4/25/15 - Day 115 - Pirates Booty Theives
Spent the evening tonight with some of our favorite peoples. Nathan and Anorah play so amazingly well together, I never have to worry about these two having a great time and getting along well. Tonight's game was stealing treasure from the ever distracted adults. The kids had such a blast.

4/24/15 - Day 114 - Audition
Today was the audition at Nathan's school for the annual talent show. Nathan and I spent a good amount of time trying to pick the perfect song to sing...and I think our choice of "When Can I See You Again" from Wreck It Ralph was a great one. Nathan did such a great job in his audition. I'm so proud of my brave and talented boy.

4/22/15 -Day 112 - All I Want For Summer Is My 2 Front Teeth
I teach Nathan's 2nd grade class Music on Wednesdays. Today Nathan couldn't stop playing with his loose tooth. It wasn't long into class when Nathan got very excited because his tooth came out! So fun that I got to be there for that. Look how happy he is!

4/21/15 - Day 111 - Mop Top Chop
Boy oh boy, was Nathan overdue for a haircut! Look how cute he is now. Somebody stop time...my boy's getting so big.

4/20/15 - Day 110 - Reading
I've started reading a book or two here or there, but I think this very well may be the first book I'm going to finish reading in many many years. "The Good Nurse" proved to be a real page turner.
Here I sit, at Nathan's gymnastics, reading instead of watching Nathan...this MUST be a good book.

4/19/15 - Day 109 - Back Home
I always have a great time at Sweet Adelines competitions, but am equally glad when I get to come back home to these goofballs.

4/16/15 - Day 106 - Little Farmer
These peppers are going for a 2nd season. This plant is actually yielding so many more peppers than it did last year. James won't let me water the peppers alone. He insists on helping me.

4/15/15 - Day 105 - Bad/Good Hair Day
We let the kids go far too long between hair cuts. Today we got James's done, but it's very obvious that Nathan needs his cut as well!
James does so much better when they cut his hair now. There were some really terrible experiences in his hair cutting past.

4/13/15 - Day 103 - Bob Board Game
Nathan's school likes to give the students interesting and creative projects to help them review and process what they've learned at school. This project was to help review the novel "A Dolphin Named Bob". Nathan choose to create a board game. He worked so hard on it and we're both very proud of the result.

4/11/15 - Day 101 - Special Arts Day
My school has a very large population of special needs students. Today my company, PS Arts, held a special arts day at our school. This was the activity I worked at. A huge collaborative mural made with stamps and this really cool large pushing roller thing.

James little club foot looking so much better than when he was born. Still, it will probably always look just a little bit funny.

4/8/15 - Day 98 - Kon Mari Adventure Begins
Our house has been out of control for some time now. We have so much stuff, and so many things with no home, that it's just so very difficult to keep this place tidy. Enter Marie Kondo and the Kon Mari method. This photo marks the first step....clothing. In this bag is the clothing that I donated from just my closet. It's pretty incredible how much stuff a person holds on to....stuff that they don't even like, won't wear, or never use.

4/6/15 - Day 96 - Blocks
The boys were so adorable playing with the blocks this morning that I went and grabbed my camera. They were building little towers and taking turns knocking them down. I got it in my little head that I might do some sort of composite image to make it look like the blocks are flying directly at the camera. Yeah....didn't so much work the way I imagined. But, we had fun trying.

4/4/15 - Day 94 - Blood Moon
This was NOT an easy photo to capture. I used my new Point and Shoot camera because it has an incredible zoom on it, but it was so hard to focus. The tiniest movement on the tripod meant that the moon would disappear from my view and I'd miss it. I have lots and lots of terrible photos from this night, but I'm happy that I did get one or two decent shots. Here's one.

4/3/15 - Day 93 - Free to Roam
Nathan is still off from school, but James is at daycare for the day...so I took the opportunity to take Nathan to the park to meet up with some friends. We packed a little picnic, and sat in the shade of a tree while we waited. Our friends were a little late, so Nathan wanted to go off to the playground to play. It's so nice that he's finally at an age where I feel comfortable letting him go off, out of sight to play. Here he is swinging, very far away from me.
After our friends arrived, just plain acting silly. |

4/2/15 - Day 92 - Drummer Boy
Nathan has long been interested in the drums. Here he is playing Rock Band on the Wii. He's getting pretty good at those drums.

4/1/15 - Day 91 - Science Ain't Nobody's Fool
I'm guessing Rich took today off too? Wow! We spent the day with some friends at the Science Museum. This was the first time that James was really able to enjoy himself here.
A tradition, trying to lift the car near the parking lot.
James and Daddy playing with the speaker tube.
Nathan and Vincent working together.
James just delighted by the snow tube.
An homage to a photo we took of Nathan years ago in precisely this same spot. Luckily, James isn't grumpy here.
