6/30/15 - Day 181 - Listening Sheet

I wonder if I forgot to take a picture today. A few photos of Harborlites listening sheets is all I could find that I took pictures of today, so it's going to have to do.

6/29/15 - Day 180 - Necklace

These beads came from one of Grandma's necklaces. I re-purposed them into a necklace I would be likely to wear.

6/28/15 - Day 179 - Trinkets

We were given the opportunity to keep some of Grandma's things. Our family has worked hard to eliminate excess 'things" from our life, so I tried to be very selective about the things I took wanting to be sure that the things I brought home would be used often.  Here are two of the things of Grandma's that I brought home.

A little crystal star and these little clear and green marbles. I was sure the boys would enjoy playing with the marbles on their marble track and I had been looking for a while for something little to keep by my bedside for my rings. This little star fit the bill perfectly.

Upon bringing them home, they both were immediately put to use. The little marbles made such a charming little chime every time they landed in the star. I'm sure such activity would have put a smile on Grandma's face.

6/24/15 - Day 175 - Plate Spinning

Nathan was having such a fun time spinning his breakfast plate this morning.

6/22/15 - Day 173 - Home

It was a hard and exhausting trip. This was all I had energy for today.

6-21-15 - Day 172 - Grandma's Day

Today is Father's day and yet again the boys and I are away from Rich on this special day. I was sure that today's photograph would simply be the boys playing in the water at the water park here in St. George. You can't deny it, there sure are some cute photos from our morning at the water park.

But that wasn't all the day had in store. The aunts had planned a father's day concert for my Grandma and the other people at the facility where my Grandma is.  So, we rehearsed for and sang in that little program.

Unfortunately, my dear Grandma Green wasn't well enough to attend the concert.

So, we gathered friends and family into Grandma's room and gave her a private concert. The day was filled with, family, fun, music, and love.

It was such a wonderful day. We weren't sure at the time, but this would be Grandma's last day on this earth. I can't think of a better last day for Grandma. Surrounded by the things she loved most in this life. I feel so blessed and grateful to have been able to be a part of it.

6/20/15 - Day 171 - Visiting the Train?

We've come to the facility where my Grandma Green is spending her last days. They have a wonderful little train set on the way to her room that kept sweet James occupied for such a long time.

6/19/15 - Day 170 - Roadtrip

On our way to St. George to visit with family! This was taken very carefully while driving by Vegas.

6/18/15 - Day 169 - Morning Cuddles

Mema's still here. The boys just love waking up and cuddling with their Mema in the morning. I have a feeling she doesn't mind much either.

Bonus shot of Nathan after a haircut. Cause he's cute.

6/17/15 - Day 168 - Mema's Here!!!!

Ugh, I knew I should have brought the good camera for this. I didn't want to worry about lugging the thing around because I knew we'd have to take care of some luggage at the airport, but I'm so sad that I didn't get a better photograph of this moment. Nathan stayed up late so that he could be there to meet his Mema at the airport. What a happy reunion.

6/16/15 - Day 167 - Treasure Box

Nathan has so many little rocks and gems and other small treasures that he doesn't want James to get his hands on, so we needed a little box to house those treasures. Today after sitting and waiting through my chiropractic appointment, I suggested we go to Michaels to find one. He originally thought it was a good idea, but then was just miserable when we actually got to the store. Now, every time I look at the box I feel like both a bad and wonderful mother simultaneously.

6/15/15 - Day 166 - Spectator

I wish I had a better camera, and view of the action today. Nathan was working on his back-handsprings at gymnastics. He's getting really close to getting it!

6/14/15 - Day 165 - Fitting

Came across my dress in the KonMari process. It has been sitting in the boy's closet, taking up space, for some time now.  I originally kept it, like many brides, in case I ever had a daughter. But, nope...2 boys later, there are no daughters in my future, so, what to do? I still love my dress.  And it still fits! Well, I have some ideas.

Putting this dress on was just so much fun. Fitting into your wedding dress almost 12 years after you first wore it absolutely sparks major joy! I didn't want to take it off.

1/13/15 - Day 164 - Happy Birthday Rich

It is a rare occasion indeed that I'm home for Rich's birthday. Rich requested the same Lane Cake I made last year. This year's cake was far easier to make and didn't involve one single disaster.

6/12/15 - Day 163 - Flippin' Fool

I'm a little confused, this date is a Friday. But the photo was taken on a Sunday. Looks like I've made some mistake somewhere. BUT, I'll just leave it here for now.

This was taken at my Sunday gymnastics class. I've been working on learning to twist. It's clearly far too low to put onto the ground yet. Thank goodness for that pit! Nonetheless.  Who would have thunk that I would be working on a front layout with a full at the age of 39? Not me! I love my time at gymnastics so much! Few things bring me as much joy as being able to still do so many things at my age. Sure, I can't do what I could when I was a kid, but it's just so fun to be trying. With any luck, I'll still be trying 10 yrs from now.

6/11/15 - Day 162 - Review in Venice

This has become somewhat of a yearly tradition for me and Nathan.  My company's office is in Venice, so when school is out and I have to have my performance review, I have to bring Nathan. Poor boy has to wait, but afterwards, we're right there, by Venice Beach.  So, this year I was prepared. We had our scooters, a backpack with towels and sunblock, etc...and a free afternoon. We had so much fun scootering (without helmets OOPS!) all over the place. Nathan even got to pick out a fun souvenir for the day.

Bobble Head Nathan

Cheers! It's lunchtime.

Look at that kid climb!

Sometimes that iPhone takes a decent picture. This kid is crazy enough to go into that cold water! I was happy to sit and watch him.

Nathan invented a game where he kept feeding the ocean. What does the ocean eat? Well, sand, obviously.

The little souvenir that Nathan finally settled on.

6/10/15 - Day 161 - Nesting

It's that time of year! These birds always like to build a nest in the eves right under the window to our bedroom. I watched this guy for quite some time...gathering nesting materials here and there, fighting off other birds who wanted the prime real estate. Here's hoping for no bird mites when they leave the nest this year.

6/9'15 - Day 160 - Money

This is such a dumb picture. I remember deciding to take it. I actually fretted over the legality of taking this shot...is it legal to take a photograph of money? Then I thought, well, if I only take a picture of part of it, that should be fine right?  Whatever.  This is a $20 bill that we got for selling some of the stuff that we "Konmaried".

6/8/15 - Day 159 - Running in the Streets

Must be Summer Vacation, both the boys on a Monday running in the street in our complex. They're so happy to have each other to play with and still play together so nicely....90% of the time.

6/7/15 - Day 158 - Summer Swim

Could this be the first swim of the summer? Looks like it. It certainly won't be the last. The boys both adore the water.

6/6/15 - Day 157 - River Rat

Rich and I took the boys to the park today for some outdoor fun. James and I walked down the lake together a ways...all the while he was hunting for rocks and sticks to throw into the water. Then we ended up at the little river that flows from the man-made lake and James took much joy in throwing sticks into the river and watching them flow away in the current. It was a fun little memory. Made even more fun by the fact that James never fell into the water like I feared about the whole time.
